This weekend, my mom and my aunt are coming into town for my brother's parents' weekend at school. My dad can't make it because of work, but we'd already bought four tickets to see Billy Crystal tomorrow night, so my aunt decided to come instead to fill his place. Here's what we've got planned so far:
Friday evening: Early dinner at Old Ebbitt. Capital Hauntings walking tour from 7:30-9:30.
Saturday morning: Arlington Farmers Market, brunch or breakfast somewhere nearby.
Saturday afternoon: Madame Tussauds wax museum, Ansel Adams' and Annie Leibovitz's exhibitions at the Corcoran.
Saturday late afternoon/early evening: Return to my apartment to meet my grandparents, who are coming in from Delaware; dinner somewhere nearby.
Saturday night: Billy Crystal show. (Man, my little college got NO ONE for parents' weekend... I've now gotten to see Jon Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld, and Billy Crystal thanks to my brother's school.)
Sunday morning: breakfast/brunch with my mom and aunt before they leave
Sunday late morning/afternoon: rock climbing gym
Sunday afternoon: hit up the party store for Halloween costumes and decorations
Sunday night: pass out in front of television
Oh, and have I mentioned that in the past three weekends, I've gone camping/hiking/scrambling over giant boulders up a very large mountain in West Virginia, been to Connecticut for a bat mitzvah, and attended a lovely wedding, which thankfully did not require traveling? I thought weekends were for lying in front of the television, or maybe getting outside to play tennis or enjoy the fall weather. Or, you know, going out with friends for a drink or dinner. Do people still do that? It's been so long...
