Perfect When It Counts

Oh, Pretty Boy Brady... turns out Plaxico actually gave you too much credit. And he had the game-winning touchdown. Ouch. I mean, the bruises you received from those five sacks will fade over the next week or so, but I don't think you can say the same about the bruise to your ego.

(Okay, in fairness, I don't hate Brady. He's obviously the best quarterback playing right now, and usually he isn't walking around with a cocky "I'm the greatest ever" attitude a la T.O. Plus, it really wasn't his fault that he couldn't make many plays... his offensive line was just completely overpowered. But laughing at the possibility of being held to under 20 points, and then snubbing Eli and not even taking his pre-game good luck handshake. I was pretty happy to see that pretty boy smile wiped from Pretty Boy's face last night.)

And Belichick? If you are going to wear that ugly god-awful grey sweatshirt with the cut off sleeves to every other game of the perfect season, why the hell would you wear that bright red one, which no one has ever seen before, in the Super Bowl? I mean, come on. What were you thinking? The first time he came on screen, I called him out on that and said it may very well be the Patriots undoing. Superstitious? Well, yeah. Every sports fan is, no matter how ridiculous the idea that where you sit on the couch influences the outcome of a came being played 2500 miles away may be. But I bet I was not the only person wondering where that red shirt came from... I bet there were at least a few players on the Pats who might have been distracted by their coach's sudden change in wardrobe and wondered if maybe, just maybe, that would jinx them. And I am a believer that a little seed of doubt such as that could quite possibly snowball into more.

This may be the only time in history where most of the nation was rooting for the team from New York. And it was a damn exciting game, too. Watching Brady get put on his back so frequently, and seeing Eli magically wriggle out of the grip of three Pats and stay on his feet and have the ability to get the ball to Tyree for a first down... oh man, that play is legendary.

I'm a happy, happy girl today.

Comments:

YES!!! that was the best game i have ever, ever seen. i wanted so badly for that p.o.s. brady to cry.

and i TOTALLY thought the exact same thing about belichick's sweatshirt. why change it for the most important game of the season?

not that it mattered b/c my giants were AWESOME and he could have worn whatever he wanted it wouldn't have stopped brady from getting thrown down.

it was the best. priceless. i only wish my tiki had stayed for one more year to experience it.
