Wow. So, umm... this is a very important entry on Completely Irrelevant and I couldn't have planned it better if I tried.
Today, I voted for President of the United States, and I hope you did too. I voted for Barack Obama (and I hope you did too, but mostly I just hope you voted). I stood on line while it was still dark out, stood there for nearly two hours, stood there without having any coffee first (what was I thinking?), and it was thrilling. The line went out and around the building, past the tennis courts behind it, past the rather large playground, and all the way to the stop sign at the end of the block. It was an amazing feeling to think that this really is what democracy is all about.
This is also a very important entry today because it is my 1000th entry. One thousand. You'd think perhaps I'd have more than 5 readers after 1000 entries, but I write this for me more than anyone else. This blog has seen me through law school, a bar exam, unemployment and job searching, another bar exam, several moves, some job changes. I've chronicled some very low points in my life, but now am in the best place I've ever been and life somehow, each day, seems to be getting even better. When I started this website, Barack Obama was not a nationally-known name, and here he is... putting together quite the run for the presidency. (And before anyone decides to take this opportunity to write him off as not being qualified b/c of a lack of experience, I have two words for you... but you know what they are, and I don't want to go there today, and let's all just agree to disagree because that's our right, m'kay?)
A lot has changed in the past 1000 entries, the past five-and-a-half years since I started this blog. Let's hope today brings a change for the better over the next four years and beyond.
Now get your butt out there and VOTE!!!
Congrats on your 1000 entries and congrats to our new president (elect) BARACK OBAMA! I had a champagne toast and was able to sigh a breath of relief at not having to figure out how the f i was going to move to vancouver by jan 20th.

Wow, 1000 entries... I remember the very first, and I've read every single one of them... Congratulations!
And of course I voted, though it only took me an hour from start to finish. Must suck to live in a communist area in a battleground state. :)
