Birthday Weekend Recap: Highlights and Lowlights
I am kind of slammed at work this week, so a quick recap of this weekend's birthday festivities will have to do...
Highlights:
pre-birthday yummy sushi dinner
Bailey's Irish Cream birthday cake and strawberry bellinis
pre-birthday game night
running the Four Courts Four Miler minutes faster than I had expected
taking the train to NYC instead of the bus
delicious Italian dinner and drinks at "not MacLaren's" with friends that braved the rain
Sunday brunch with friends
my parents coming down to the city to join us for museums and barbecue (which in my case meant some of the richest, creamiest macaroni and cheese I've ever had)
holding my friends' two day old baby girl!
Lowlights:
RAIN! Oh my god, the rain!
train being stopped in the middle of New Jersey for two hours due to track problems from the rain
walking through giant puddles, getting soaked from the waist down because umbrellas are nothing against 50 mph winds
friends having to miss out on birthday dinner and drinks due to leaky apartment ceilings from the rain
friends having to miss out on birthday dinner and drinks due to having a brand new baby! (although that's the best excuse I will ever hear, plus see highlight where I got to go hold little Lilah!)
friends missing birthday drinks without explanation
Tonight is Round Three of the birthday celebration -- happy hour style!
