« Monthly Fitness Goal: January | Main | January 4 & 5, 2010 »
Perhaps the loftiest of my goals for this year is to cover 1000 miles in 2010. I'm not so much making it a separate goal, but considering it more something that I am aspiring to accomplish while working towards some of my other running goals, such as running another 10 mile race (or two) and a half marathon this year. If I don't reach it, I won't beat myself up about it. But a friend of mine mentioned that she had accomplished running 1000 miles last year, and I'd never even kept track of my annual mileage before and thought it sounded like a pretty cool idea.
Here are my completely arbitrary rules for what counts towards my 1000 mile goal:
1. Must include some running or jogging, either outside or on the treadmill. Miles completed on elliptical or bike do not count towards 1000 miles.
2. Must be intended as a workout (i.e., not counting walking around town or walking to work).
3. Warm ups and cool downs are not included, but walking breaks are.
I'm keeping track of the miles run here. I also have a link to it on the sidebar.
Today's workout: 3 miles in 33:17.
